HSC's College of Biomedical and Translational Sciences has 8 faculty members highlighted on the Top 2% of Scientists List from Standford University and Elsevier

Eight faculty members from the at The are among the top 2% of scientists in the world according to a new list from Standford University and Elsevier.  

The rankings are based on citation data and use standardized metrics such as h-index and other bibliometric indicators to show career and recent-year impact.

鈥淭his list highlights a stellar group of scientists at the College of Biomedical and Translational Sciences and illustrates the impact that they are making across a broad range of scientific fields,鈥 said Dr. Dimitrios Karamichos, interim dean of CBTS.  

鈥淭heir inclusion on this list is a testament to the efforts of the entire CBTS team to train the next generation of scientists to take on health challenges through scientific discovery.  

The rankings also categorize researchers into 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields, using established classifications and data from Scopus, a comprehensive database of peer-reviewed literature. In the latest edition, scientists鈥 career-long data has been updated through 2022.
